Meaning.
An attempt to make something that is not the case appear true.
1. Pretending to be who you are not is denying a chance to those seeing a mentor in you to have a real one.
2. Pretence will keep you under pressure to keep up appearances all the time.
3. Pretence may pay you well but when discovered, you will pay heavily for being a fraud.
4. Pretence promotes a person you are trying to be whilst bringing down the real you.
5. Pretend to be a Christian in day time so we can praise you and be a carefree devil at night? What for?
6. When your pretence is discovered, you have only one option, undress pretence completely so you can be dressed in truth that suites you.
7. It’s a tough thing to come back and face people that trusted you, respected you and whose identity you stole through your pretences.
Genesis 27:21-22 KJV
And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
Genesis 32:11 KJV
Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
But Christianity is not nothing you pretend; you’ve got to have it. You’ve got to have it.
