Meaning.
The act of harming a person’s reputation by telling one or more other people something that is untrue and damaging about that person.
1. Slander has no place in a person that professes to be a Christian no matter the pressure to do it.
2. If you ever used Slander to win favour or get promoted at any level, that promotion is from Hell and you will have no peace unless your conscience is seared with a hot iron and refuse to repent.
3. Before you spread a message about someone’s purported bad behavior kindly get the facts right so you avoid being an accomplice of the actual Slanderer.
4. Dramatising a negative story about someone when it’s only the headline you have read makes you a good student of Slander.
5. Slander makes you claim you are friends with someone whose private life you keep bringing in public in the name of wanting him / her helped when you have never prayed for them or attempted to speak to them yourself.
6. Slander is evident in social media posts that don’t mention a specific name yet perfectly describe a character or action of the person being undressed Facebookly or Twitterly.
7. The difference between sticking a knife in the back of one you show your teeth and killing their influence is very difficult to distinguish.
Psalms 101:5KJV
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Proverbs 10:18 KJV
He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
“You may have tried to get rid of that ill-temper, that slandering tongue, that gossip on the telephone. You might have tried every remedy you know how. But if you’ll just let Jesus Christ come into you tonight, He’ll operate on your faith, and give you a faith that will climb beyond anything that the world can produce.”
