The quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.
- If you think God will work with a coward my sister read about Ruth who made up her mind totally and declared “where you will go I will go, where you die I will die….”
- If my brother you think God will work with a coward group read about the three Hebrew children who declared ” we will not bow down to an image” & walked right straight into the fire.
- If you think God will respect your fear of empty pronouncements read about Daniel defying the king by praying 3 times a day with an open window & faced starved lions.
- If you think God will have you to lead without Courage read about Moses pointing his stick on the red sea and telling the Hebrews ” these Egyptians you have seen today you will see no more”
- If you think God will deal with you less of Courage to call Him on the scene look at Elisha shouting ” where is the God of Elijah? “
- If you think God will be happy for you to let your family wallow in sin look at Joshua proclaiming ” as for me & my house we will serve the Lord”.
- God is not interested in Cowards & He never uses them. How many times do you read about God saying ” be of Good Courage” even when one is simply a tool in His hands to fulfil what He promised to do? He has not given us the spirit of fear, He is our strength, shield & buckler whom shall we fear? If the Lord be for us who can be against us?
Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Joshua 1:9 KJV
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
