LEGACY

My 7 Points. LEGACY

Meaning.
When a person dies, the mark the individual left on the world represents that individual’s legacy.

  1. We see a banana as soft a plant as it is leaving behind little plants to carry one the sweetness after it is harvested.
  2. We see fire as hot and blazing as it can get just leaving a trail of distraction in a forest but once it dies, you can’t ignite a bigger flame.
  3. We see families that once lived in “Hollywood” torn apart & reduced to zero because the bread winner’s legacy could not go beyond the last breath.
  4. We see a fearful bull on a farm die and is forgotten because it fathered not a single offspring.
  5. We see great managers leave an organization and it suffers loss because they kept the cards close to their chest and never trained another to take the mantle after they are gone.
  6. We see promising political parties & NGO’s die soon after their visionary leader steps aside.
  7. We see great leaders pass the mantle to the young before they themselves lose the strength to perform simply because they believe in continuity of a good legacy. Such leaders are never forgotten and almost every important speech bares there name even when they are long gone. The time to build your legacy is when its called Today for Tomorrow belongs to the Future.

What influence will you leave on this earth and what shall you be remembered by?
What is your succession plan for the team you are leading ?

Learn from Elijah and Elisha’s interaction and actions below. 2 Kings 2:8-9, 13-14

And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
