ABOUT THE TEACHINGS OF MOTHERS AND FATHERS.
So he would walk into the house after work and my siblings and would quickly check if the water was not boiling unattended to on the stove, if the taps were properly closed, the dogs had eaten, the livestock properly secured and tools kept safe where they would not be a danger to anyone and so on and so forth. Sounds like he was a dictator???
My dressing was biased towards what he loved and considered smart. He provided everything we asked for as children and encouraged us to work hard by showing us how to do it right.
In the older version of me I have come to appreciate what I thought was a difficult man. His influence has helped me to be a responsible person and I easily pass knowledge to others and allow for successful succession planning by God’s grace.
Then about the lady alongside him. Yoh! What a mother! Her lessons she taught have clearly become a preparation for great adulthood. When my friends came around to play and I asked them to help with chores which she watched carefully. If they left before work was done she then would say ” If your friend is not available to help you then you can do it on your own” and she would give more time for completion since extra hands weren’t available. I washed dishes, I moped, I ironed clothes i, I cooked even for visitors, I baked, etc. my Siblings I had to pass this knowledge. I wondered why she could not give them first hand knowledge until now when am freely giving it to others. she saw a vision right?
Again in the older version of me I have come to appreciate working Smart, hard work pays and ensuring I put more effort to do it by myself if no one shows up with a helping hand.
Most of all they taught us to Love God,they sponsored me to go to church conferences at a tender age with elders in whose hands they placed the responsibility of parents. They thought us to love the church , respect all young and old, help others and not desriminate and be all weather Christians. Mr & Mrs Mfumbaika tutors with a vision that dies not. Wonderful!
Proverbs 6:20-21 (KJV)
My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
